The FIU Health Science Complex brings together three public health facilities with the primary goal to strengthen FIU’s existing public health laboratory sciences curriculum; establish new collaborations to enhance disease/disorder diagnostic capabilities; and offer student interface with an active clinical environment open to the community at large for diagnosis, treatment, and care.

MCHarry Associates has provided program analysis and schematic design for the 182,560sf complex facilty. The College of Public Health & Social Work consists of 62,704sf of faculty & staff offices as well as research and training laboratories.

The Miami-Dade County Health Department component will consolidate Miami-Dade County’s Health Department operations, including administrative and public health units, totaling approximately 98,960sf.

The final portion of the complex is comprised of the Ambulatory Care Center which will include Family Medicine/ Primary Care, Sports Medicine, an Imaging Center, and Administrative/Support spaces. With approximately 20,896sf, it will be open to the general community for diagnosis, treatment and care.
